So you want a pool in your yard, your own private place to kick back, relax, and get a little exercise.  But before you start investing money, here are some things you should discuss with your contractor.

How Big?
This depends on both the space available for the pool and how you want to use it.  If you want a good workout, you need a big rectangular pool with straight sides.  Most residential pools, however, are free-form to fit the space available.  Or perhaps you’d prefer a smaller dipping pool where the kids can play safely, and you can relax in the cool water.

Where To Put It?
This again depends on the space available in your yard and how much of that yard you want to give up.  Do you want your yard to be all pool with some pavers around the edge?  Or do you want the landscaping to make it make the whole environment more attractive?

How Much Will It Cost?
For most homeowners, this is the big question, and there are a lot of considerations that go into answering it.  Begin with size and location.  Then consider possible extras like solar or gas heating, decorative add-ons like color and tile, or maybe a mechanical pool cover – even a pergola for shade and patio furniture.  Think about the possible tradeoffs.  What would you give up to get something you want more and still say on a budget?

Your contractor will handle permits, materials, and other project costs.  Just be sure you get an itemized list of those costs.  Some of them may be tax-deductible.

It’s An Investment

4 Seasons Remodeling & Design OUTDOOR KITCHENS Los Angeles

Outdoor kitchens are probably the most desirable property improvement homeowners can

make, especially here in Southern California, where the weather is great, and outdoor

entertaining is part of the lifestyle. As a California based company, we at 4 Seasons

Remodeling and Design understand that lifestyle and all the things that make it special.

An outdoor kitchen is not only a great place to cook and entertain, it transforms your

backyard or patio into an extension of your home’s living space. It becomes a more enjoyable

place to spend time with family and friends.

The difference between a simple backyard barbecue and an outdoor kitchen is all the

conveniences that make any kitchen really useful. Here are a few of the basics.

  •  Built-in gas grill
  •  Additional burner(s) for preparing side dishes
  •  Countertops for food preparation
  •  Sink or mini-bar
  •  Refrigerator
  •  Food storage compartments
  •  Concealed trash container
  • Depending on the space available, there are all sorts of additional features that can go into your outdoor kitchen.
  •  Ice maker or ice chest
  •  Wine cooler
  •  Blender
  •  Utensil drawers
  •  Pizza oven
  •  Extended patio roof
  •  Outdoor television…

You get the idea. At 4 Seasons Remodeling and Design, we design outdoor kitchens to suit your individual needs, your taste, and your budget. Because 4 Seasons provides complete landscaping and remodeling services, we can redesign your entire outdoor space, including lighting, patio heaters, planters, walkways, even a swimming pool, and shower. However large or small your backyard project may be, we have the skills, training, and experience to make it happen. It all begins with a plan. We meet with you, look over the property, offer suggestions, show you some of the work we’ve already done, and talk about what features you want to see in our new outdoor kitchen. That’s our commitment to you – to make sure the outcome is everything you hoped it would be.
